Exporting Redacted PDFs

When you are happy with your redactions, the export step applies all changes and produces a new PDF file that excludes every hidden region.

How to Export

1. Click Export Redacted PDF in the sidebar (desktop) or toolbar (mobile).
2. Read the Legal Notice — confirm you are using redaction for lawful privacy purposes.
3. (Optional) Enable Secure Export to flatten pages to images, making text unrecoverable.
4. Click I Understand, Export PDF to download.

The file is saved to your device's default Downloads folder.

Export Modes

Standard Export

Draws opaque rectangles over the redacted regions in the PDF. Fast and produces small file sizes. The underlying text may still be technically present in the PDF data stream for some advanced PDF readers — use Secure Export if this matters.

Secure Export (Pro)

Converts every redacted page to a flat image before embedding. The original text layer is destroyed. Takes a little longer and produces larger files, but guarantees irreversible redaction.

Row-Removal Export (Pro)

When you have added Remove Row bands, the export pipeline cuts each row entirely, closes the gap, and flattens affected pages. This mode is always secure.

File Name

Exported files are named redacted_MMDDYYYY_HHMMSS_originalname.pdf. Secure exports are prefixed secure_redacted_, row-removal exports use cleaned_.
